8th Graders Mouse Trap Car

Rules:

1. The car must be powered by the mouse trap. The original mouse trap has to be part of the car. You can not remove the spring or lever from the trap.

2. Your car must travel the distance in a straight path of 2 meters.

3. You may extend the length of your car. It can not be any shorter than the length of the trap.

4. You can use factory wheels and axles, or you may design your own. You can not attach it to an existing vehicle. Custom wheels and axles work the best.

5. Use what you have learned in Unit 2, along with your problem solving skills when designing your machine or mouse trap car.

6. This project is worth 50 points.

 

  • Meets the 2 meters distance, 50 pts.
  • Does not meet the distance, but moves at least 5 cm, 40 pts.
  • Does not move at all, 35 pts.
  • If you don't do a car, 0 pts.

**BONUS POINTS- Judged on Distance

 

  • 1st 15 pts.
  • 2nd 10 pts.
  • 3rd 5 pts.
